Tips to Help You Choose Among LCD HDTV Televisions

The current demand for LCD HDTV televisions is huge compared to that of Plasma HDTVs. This technology continues to be the market leader in sells and is preferred by consumers. These come in a wide variety of sizes,  they fit in any area of the house and yet they are light enough to be mounted on walls in the same way the you could mount a picture frame of a painting. Here are a few recommendations to help you choose a good LCD HDTV television.

Be sure to read some reviews

Even the best LCD HDTV televisions have display problems. One of the common problems with many of them is that they have a slow refresh rate that can lead to ghosting, blurring in fast action sequences and a considerably low contrast rate if we compare it with Plasma HDTVs. Manufacturers are currently dealing with the issues but still, the problems seems to be still there. Probably in a few years this technology will have evolved and refresh rates will be faster than current refresh rates are.

Why is size a problem?

Your new set has to fit the are that you will be placing it on and it has to be big enough to help you get a better experience than you used to have. These television sets are best viewed from a distance. As a general rule of the thumb you can consider the following:  The bigger the set the farther you have to sit.

Choose Your Resolution and Brand

Resolution is the overall quality of the picture. Higher numbers mean more quality and detail. There are many standards for resolution like these: 720p, 720i and 1080p. While not all of the standards are listed  the all have a similar format. They have a number followed by a letter. As of today the highest resolution used is 1080p (1080 lines progressive scan). 1080p is known as “Full HD”. If you are a little short on budget a 720p set will do just fine and in smaller screens the difference between it and full HD is not that big. When it comes to an LCD HDTV the brand is very important. Brands such as Samsung, Sony, and Philips are some of the most respected in the industry simply because they manufacture great products.

If you opt in for a good  brand and consider a larger-sized LCD HDTV, some of the best you’ll find can set you back at least $700 for a decent-sized 32″. Bigger sizes starting at 37″ can cost from about $1,500 to $3,000. Note: When it comes to Liquid Crystal Display Screens a low quality Tv can be very disappointing. Go with a recognized brand. You will save yourself some headaches.
