The Toshiba Regza 46XV635 LCD HDTV Television

If you are interested in an HDTV television with a large screen at decent price tag the the Regza XV line from Toshiba might be the product line that may provide the answer you are looking for. The low price on the series does not necessarily mean that it lacks when it comes to features. In this review we will be writing a little about the largest set in the Regza series to date, the 46XV635DB 46 inch HDTV.

The Toshiba Regza 46XV635DB has a medium-big screen measuring approximately 46 inches diagonally. Has automatic backlighting to help reduce that amount of brightness that is displayed when watching the set in dark rooms or when on screen brightness is too high. Excess light triggers a sensor that is responsible for the automatic backlight adjustments in the set. When it comes to frames per second this television set sits rather behind most top of the line sets since, it displays images at up to 100 fps while some high end HDTV televisions are already able to display up to 240 frames per second (240Hz) like the Sony Bravia Series. Then again, if you are one of those people that severely dislike the so called “soap opera effect” then this set offers more than enough frames per second for you.

The audio quality on this set is the typical quality you would expect from factory small TV speakers but with and added touch. The Bass Boost feature of the 46XV635DB helps enhance the bottom end sound giving it more body and warmth. Another nice feature when it comes to audio is that the set helps attenuate decibel differences between the main programming and those annoying high volume commercials.

In terms of connectivity the Toshiba Regza 46XV635DB HDTV television is very versatile. It has four HDMI ports allowing you to connect a lot of HD devices at once like BLU-Ray players, a computer or a high definition video camcorder. But this HDTV is not limited only to HDMI, it has a lot of connecting options including S-Video, VGA, component and SCART.

This set is very energy efficient compared to most of the HDTVs in the market especially sets that are using other screen technologies like Plasma HDTVs. In fact, the EcoPanel on this set reduces the amount of power needed to project an image by 30% compared to other competing LCD HDTVs! If you are looking for a set with a considerable size and that doesn’t make your electric bill sky rocket then this line of high definition televisions is for you. It may not have the flashy features as most of the high end models but a great set with a decent price tag.
